An effective Leadership 360 Assessment can simultaneously serve two distinct purposes:

Help the Leader learn and grow: In order to progress and develop leadership skills, a leader must first truly understand the current condition from the perspective of others in their circle of influence. It is quite easy (and common) to believe we are better leaders than we truly are, to overrate our strengths and underestimate our weaknesses. The Leadership 360 Assessment helps a leader first know the truth. Then, it helps strengthen areas of weakness by providing specific recommendations in those areas.

Provide the organization with fact-based feedback from those in the leader's circle of influence: A leader without followers is just "taking a walk." The primary role of leadership is to lead others toward maximum effectiveness in their work. It is often difficult to know if and when a leader is fulfilling their leadership roles, and to know in what areas they require additional training. With the increased focus on teamwork in today's highly competitive environment, it is helpful for performance appraisals to include feedback from a full circle of sources - supervisors/managers, peers and direct reports as well as a self assessment. The 360 Assessment provides objective feedback in a concise, easy-to-read and understand manner that may easily be used to determine the performance effectiveness of a leader.

 

How it works:

The 360 Assessment includes 108 questions (12 per category) plus an opportunity for each respondent to provide unedited comments to assist in the development of the leader. This provides a thorough assessment without requiring excessive respondent time (requires only 10-15 minutes of respondent time). Separate links are provided for supervisor/boss, peers and direct reports.

Daily updates are provided to the Assessment Administrator to assist with maximum participation. The Assessment Administrator chooses the opening and closing dates of the assessment period. A link to download complete reports is sent to the Assessment Administrator via email within 5 business days of the close of the assessment period.
